CELEBRATING MISSION MOBILE · 2015–2020
Mission Mobile
From 2015 to 2020, Mission Mobile took Explore!’s mission beyond museum walls. A colorful learning bus brought students together to investigate, experiment, and solve problems—making curiosity a shared adventure.

A shared mission. A role for every child.
Designed for grades 3–6, the program turned 75-minute sessions into collaborative missions for groups of 5–17 students. Children stepped into the roles of biologists, engineers, doctors, and physicists, bringing different perspectives to a shared challenge.
Mission Mobile made Explore!’s commitment to curious thinkers, creators, communicators, and collaborators tangible. Students practiced asking questions, testing ideas, communicating findings, and working together.
Connecting schools, museums, and communities
Its program history includes work with Barnard Elementary School, DCPS Summer Enrichment, Martha’s Table, the National Building Museum, and other schools and community organizations. These connections brought hands-on learning into settings where children already gathered.
